About the position

The Industrial Engineer I position at ICU Medical is an entry-level role focused on supporting engineering projects within a manufacturing environment. The engineer will work under the supervision of more experienced engineers, contributing to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role is designed for individuals looking to gain practical experience in industrial engineering and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete basic projects assigned by more experienced engineers and managers.
  • Reference existing work to complete similar projects and improve on previous work.
  • Deliver communications tailored to the needs of the receiver (managers, peers, customers) to promote cross-functional collaboration.
  • Perform time and motion studies, work sampling, and throughput constraint analysis.
  • Verify standards assumptions and analyze manufacturing operations to reduce commodity falloff and downtime.
  • Scope, write, and route Requests for Capital Expenditures for approval.
  • Establish labor and material manufacturing performance standards and develop operating projections for profit plans.
  • Support plant cost improvement activities, including identifying and implementing savings ideas.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to operating systems throughout the plant.
  • Adhere to cGMP guidelines, SOPs, and plant rules/policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Systems, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of engineering disciplines and willingness to learn best practices.
  • Ability to complete projects with minimum supervision and provide input that impacts project goals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience performing time and motion studies and work sampling/thru-put constraint analysis.
