Averro is seeking an Industrial Engineer I to join our team in Kent, Washington, focusing on manufacturing within the aerospace sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting specific targets related to cycle time, lead time, and production rates across assigned work centers. In this role, you will provide production support through various methodologies including production scheduling, theory of constraints, and resource allocation. You will also engage in defect analysis, benchmarking, and scenario planning to optimize manufacturing processes. The position requires a solid understanding of discrete event simulation and make/buy evaluations, as well as cost and price evaluations to ensure the best outcomes for the company. As a contractor, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a team that has a proven track record in the aerospace industry, particularly with Blue Origin. The role offers a pathway for extension or conversion to a full-time position, with a high conversion rate of over 80% for contractors. Responsibilities

  • Manage manufacturing-related projects.
  • Achieve get-to-rate, cycle time and lead time reduction targets for the assigned work centers.
  • Provide production support including production scheduling, theory of constraints, budgets and forecasts, crew empowerment, defect analysis, benchmarking analysis, resource allocation, scenario planning, discrete event simulation, make/buy evaluations, and cost/price evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related Engineering degree.
  • Recent graduate to 1-2 years of experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment.
  • Experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
  • 2+ years of factory flow and process modeling and simulations experience.
