About the position

The Field Engineering Team at UPS Healthcare is seeking a qualified individual to join their global department. This role focuses on supporting the UPS Healthcare Operations team by addressing day-to-day requests and implementing long-term process improvements, including cost-saving initiatives. The position involves data analysis, labor management, and facility planning for various storage conditions, contributing to impactful projects in a rapidly growing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identify innovative, cost-effective solutions to solve operational inefficiencies while addressing regulatory requirements and unique pharmaceutical challenges.
  • Perform financial analysis to develop business cases for project funding.
  • Identify, quantify, and implement cost savings, continuous improvement, and innovation projects to drive increased efficiencies.
  • Develop Work Measurement (WMT) standards for complex processes related to cold and frozen storage of critical biologics.
  • Analyze data to determine optimal storage environment, design, and layout for various storage types including CRT, Cooler, Freezer, and Hazmat.
  • Analyze data to determine optimal resources based on volume and WMT standards, including complexities of pack outs and shipping documentation.
  • Analyze facility capacity and utilization trends for future planning needs.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to develop optimized layout designs for warehouse process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Time management skills to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and design work methods and processes across multiple work streams.
  • Experience in creating and analyzing estimates and forecasts.
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts and ability to recommend changes to solve supply chain problems.
  • Familiarity with common financial terms and calculations.
  • Experience in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Solution Design and Development (Co-Ops/Internships acceptable).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Pharma, Bio-Pharma, Lab diagnostics, Medical Devices, and Home Health Products is preferred.
  • SQL experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or 3 years of IE experience with a related bachelor's degree.
  • Understanding of Warehouse Management System (WMS) design and functionality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Pharma, Bio-Pharma, Lab diagnostics, Medical Devices, and Home Health Products.
  • SQL experience.
