About the position

Raytheon is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to support the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ. This role is crucial for maximizing throughput, improving efficiency, and delivering increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers at Raytheon are responsible for a variety of tasks including Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, and Continuous Improvement. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful work that contributes to national defense and security. In this role, you will model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings. These tools will help graphically represent production processes, material movement, information exchange, and key performance indicators. You will also calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints, applying Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and meet cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals. Additionally, you will influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting proposals for infrastructure improvements and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to execute projects aimed at addressing obsolescence, improving factory performance, and promoting growth. You will also support new production contract proposals and new product integration efforts, while focusing on improving factory safety and work cell ergonomics. Responsibilities

  • Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree in a related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
