About the position

The Industrial Engineer II position at Briggs & Stratton involves completing moderately complex industrial engineering assignments under general supervision. The role requires performing statistical analysis of data to provide insights that enhance production flow and standard times. The engineer will be responsible for continuously optimizing both direct and indirect manufacturing labor as well as in-plant material flow. This optimization will be achieved through various industrial engineering methods, including line balancing, time studies, and analyzing both in-plant and external material flow. In addition to optimization tasks, the engineer will recommend designs and assist in implementing optimal station layouts that support operators effectively. A significant aspect of the role is to drive towards sustainable solutions by developing standard workflows for both new and existing products, with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency. The engineer will also support the safety performance of the manufacturing area by designing ergonomic solutions tailored to different operations and material handling processes. The position requires the engineer to recommend a plan for every part approach to new product launches and suggest improvements or modifications for the sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. Furthermore, the engineer will promote strategy deployment by completing Bottleneck Analysis and Value Stream Mapping, ensuring that the manufacturing processes are as efficient as possible. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, making this a dynamic role within the organization.
