The Industrial Engineer (IE) position is designed for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment. This role requires collaboration across various departments including Quality, Program Management, Logistics, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing. The primary responsibility of the IE is to execute change through process improvement methodologies, assist in implementing the organization's Lean strategy, and oversee project initiatives. The position also involves training and mentoring key resources to foster a culture of continuous improvement. In this role, the IE will be tasked with planning and overseeing the layout of equipment, conducting studies in Operations Value Stream to maximize workflow and space utilization, and ensuring both efficiency and workplace safety. The IE will interface with quality, manufacturing engineers, planning, and production teams to integrate new products or processes into the existing production area effectively. Utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, the IE will support the Operations Value Stream from Receiving to Shipping. Key responsibilities include developing and executing Value Stream Maps in alignment with the Lean Operations Roadmap, leading and participating in Kaizen Events and A3 projects, and maintaining documentation that supports production flow. The IE will also be responsible for conducting time studies, sequence analysis, and capacity-labor analysis to ensure that production work is balanced to Cycle Time and meets TAKT time requirements. Additionally, the role involves defining and optimizing material delivery to assembly lines and supporting failure analysis to develop effective countermeasures in collaboration with production and quality/engineering departments. The IE will also provide formal and informal training, coaching, and share best practices to create an atmosphere conducive to the development of new concepts and methods that support continuous improvement in the department.
