Averro is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama, specifically for a space exploration company. The role involves leading manufacturing-related projects and providing essential production support. Responsibilities include scheduling, applying the theory of constraints, managing budgets and forecasts, empowering crew members, conducting defect analysis, defining core competencies, evaluating make/buy decisions, and performing benchmarking analysis. In addition to these responsibilities, the Industrial Engineer II will identify and prioritize process improvement projects. This includes implementing lean manufacturing principles, conducting engineering economic analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, utilizing statistical methods, applying six sigma techniques, and performing time studies. The position requires a proactive approach to enhance manufacturing processes and improve overall efficiency within the production environment. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Experience in factory flow, process modeling, and simulations is essential, as is a background in leading continuous improvement initiatives and value stream mapping events. Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing-related projects
  • Provide production support including scheduling, theory of constraint, budget & forecast, crew empowerment, defect analysis, core competency definition, make/buy evaluation, and benchmarking analysis
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement projects using lean manufacturing, engineering economic analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, statistical methods, six sigma, and time studies

Requirements

  • BS in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment
  • Experience in factory flow, process modeling, and simulations
  • Experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events
