About the position

The position involves performing project management on complex Industrial Engineering functions to achieve efficient, cost-effective, and reliable manufacturing processes. The role requires applying mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies to meet technical objectives. The individual will work closely with higher-level engineers to develop expertise in specific areas, gaining versatility in experience and capability. The position emphasizes leadership in managing both new and ongoing projects, with minimal technical guidance needed from senior engineers or departmental management. Key responsibilities include coordinating and administering the work measurement system in manufacturing and inspection departments. This involves developing and applying standard time values through time studies and predetermined time systems. The role also requires conducting and coordinating analyses of production and inspection operations to determine the most effective methods and sequences for performing necessary work, taking into account tools, materials, specifications, equipment, and the working environment. The individual will prepare evaluation reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improvements in products, test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce flow time. Establishing methods for workload impact and cost analyses is essential to support decisions regarding load, cost, and schedule changes. The role also includes developing and recommending new layouts for manufacturing and inspection departments to optimize resource utilization and product flow. Additionally, the position involves developing base cost data for product cost estimates and conducting audits to identify and correct problems while measuring production levels and trends. The individual is expected to conduct activities safely and in accordance with established health, safety, and environmental requirements, with the authority to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.

Responsibilities

• Leads in the project management of new and current projects.
• Coordinates and administers the work measurement system in manufacturing and inspection departments.
• Develops and applies standard time values using time study and predetermined time systems.
• Conducts/coordinates the analysis of production and inspection operations to determine optimum methods and sequences of work.
• Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Establishes methods for conducting workload impact and cost analyses.
• Develops and recommends implementation of new layouts for manufacturing and inspection departments.
• Develops base cost data for product cost estimates.
• Estimates set-up times, operating times, and flow times.
• Conducts audits to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and measure production levels and trends.
• Performs special studies in all areas of plant operations and recommends preventive corrective actions.
• Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner according to established HS&E requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from an accredited program.
• Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.

• Demonstrated application to advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering projects.
