About the position

The Industrial Engineer III at ODW Logistics plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency across various logistics functions, including forward distribution and e-commerce fulfillment. This position is responsible for leading process management and improvement initiatives, developing technical solutions, and optimizing resources to meet client requirements and drive continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on involvement in operations, guiding teams, and ensuring the successful completion of projects while maximizing safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct project scoping to meet customer strategic needs and optimize existing activities.
  • Lead analysis activities and needs assessments to deliver quantifiable results through process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop process flow and VSM analysis to capture current operations and identify process improvements.
  • Direct, support, and facilitate LEAN thinking and behaviors throughout operations.
  • Review labor performance, reporting methods, forecasts, systems, and procedures to ensure productivity meets objectives and establish labor standards.
  • Produce and maintain CAD layouts of facilities for space analysis and client placement.
  • Provide and implement continuous improvement and cost leadership strategies.
  • Accountable for project completion and performance, including targeted KPIs and ROI.
  • Strategic planning for resource requirements including space, labor, and equipment.
  • Maximize safety, service, quality, and productivity throughout operations using best practices in facilities layout and material handling concepts.
  • Provide Senior Management with data and recommendations for optimal utilization of resources.
  • Assist in the Business Development process for RFP responses, including solution concepts and design.
  • Establish and implement operational procedures for startup operations, including facility layout and design.
  • Retrieve and research data from various sources and translate it into meaningful information to support action plans.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices throughout ODW.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Project, Visio, and AutoCAD.
  • Hands-on experience with facility layout and inventory management.
  • Ability to learn software programs quickly, with previous RF experience.
  • Strong project management and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with multi-shift operations.
  • Prior planning experience including budgets, manning, equipment, and facilities.
  • High energy level and drive to implement change.
  • A degree in Industrial Engineering is required.
