About the position

The Industrial Engineer, Labor Management Systems & Distribution Excellence at 3M is responsible for optimizing distribution and logistics operations within the company. This role involves analyzing existing processes, implementing solutions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and collaborating with various departments to enhance labor management programs and streamline workflows. The position requires a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, contributing to the overall strategic goals of the company.

Responsibilities

• Support Automation Projects by assisting in the design and implementation of automation systems within distribution centers.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of labor management programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting to support workforce optimization.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to identify process inefficiencies and support the execution of continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reduction and operational excellence.
• Gather, analyze, and report on key performance metrics related to distribution center operations, providing actionable insights to drive decision-making and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial/manufacturing engineering, operations research, statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of experience in a labor management program engineering labor standards within a distribution or fulfillment center.
• Three (3) years of experience in AutoCAD or similar CAD tool.
• Three (3) years of experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology.
• Three (3) years of experience in SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Distribution Automation technologies experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, analytics, simulation, and project management tools.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop innovative engineering solutions to drive improvements.
