Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for an Industrial Engineer (Level 1 or 2) to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). The selected candidates will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Beavercreek, OH to lead our manufacturing optimization efforts. In this role, you will work together with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to develop and refine production build schedules, implement cost-saving solutions and drive efficiency improvements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions. Utilizing various Continuous Improvement tools, you will analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedules. You will work with frontline leadership to assess current state and define future state possibilities, providing tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and define future possibilities. Conducting studies and generating metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery will be key responsibilities. You will partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers, applying systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery. Additionally, you will provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of composite operations. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) for Level 1; Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field with 2 years of experience or Masters in STEM with 0 years of experience for Level 2.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and/or Microsoft Project).
  • Ability to work on an assembly floor.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Program Access within a reasonable period.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Secret DOD clearance and Special Program Access.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables.
  • 1-2 years' experience with Microsoft Project (Gantt charts).
  • Experience with data analysis, or data visualization tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
