Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for an Industrial Engineer (Level 1 or 2) to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). The selected candidates will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Beavercreek, OH to lead our manufacturing optimization efforts. In this role, you will work together with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to develop and refine production build schedules, implement cost-saving solutions, and drive efficiency improvements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions. Utilizing various Continuous Improvement tools, you will analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedules. You will work with frontline leadership to assess the current state and define future state possibilities, providing tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and define future possibilities. Additionally, you will conduct studies and generate metrics pertaining to efficiency, cycle times, work-in-progress, manpower, cost performance, and product delivery. Partnering with manufacturing management, you will develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers, employing systems thinking in the development of metrics to improve product flow from the release of raw materials through product delivery. You will also provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses, and facility layouts to ensure the ongoing success of operations.
