The Industrial Engineer Manager at Kress Carrier is a pivotal role that involves overseeing the design and implementation of fixtures and tooling requested by the manufacturing department, as well as for new product lines. This position requires a strong commitment to ensuring compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including those set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The manager will support the manufacturing floor by addressing their requests and facilitating process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. In addition to overseeing fixture and tooling designs, the Industrial Engineer Manager will be responsible for the program and setup of various CNC machines, including Turning Centers, Horizontal Machining Centers, and CNC Milling Centers. The role also includes managing the daily workflow of the engineering department, ensuring that all manufacturing bills of material, routings, fixtures, tooling, and associated standards are accurately administered, coordinated, and evaluated. Collaboration is key in this role, as the manager will work closely with both manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure that designs are manufacturable. The position holds accountability for the accuracy of bills of material and routing in the ERP system for both new and existing parts, as well as for setting routing standards. The manager will also collaborate with production planning to optimize production sequencing and develop templates for manufacturability where necessary. Staying informed about best practices in manufacturing methods and trends in technology and equipment is essential, as is the ability to identify and assess problems that deviate from established standards. The manager will research and recommend solutions, implementing methods and modifications aimed at reducing production time and costs. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
