About the position

In this role, you will support our manufacturing operations with your equipment and process expertise in a continuous improvement environment. As an Industrial Engineer/Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing both planned and unplanned process and equipment issues, ensuring they are resolved effectively. You will evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations that enhance optimization, cost savings, and quality. Your role will involve implementing changes to processes and equipment according to approved plans, supporting and managing continuous improvement activities and modifications within manufacturing. You will also explore, design, test, and implement automation equipment and processes, developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflows to ensure optimal efficiency while complying with safety standards and legal regulations. Additionally, you will support capital projects from conception through implementation, including the introduction of new equipment, and evaluate new materials and engineering trials that require your expertise. Documentation is key in this role, as you will develop and publish necessary documentation to support manufacturing equipment and processes. You will provide user training across all functions on new equipment introductions and modifications, support machine setup and repairs, and create, update, and deliver reports as required. Collaboration with business partners will be essential to streamline processes and procedures, ensuring that manufacturing operates at optimal efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planned and unplanned process and equipment issues through final resolution.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for change.
  • Implement changes to processes and equipment according to approved plans, supporting and managing continuous improvement activities.
  • Explore, design, test, and implement automation equipment and processes.
  • Develop and implement detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflows for optimal efficiency.
  • Support capital projects from conception through implementation, including new equipment introduction.
  • Evaluate new materials, engineering trials, and processes that require engineering review.
  • Develop and publish documentation to support manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Provide user training across all functions on new equipment introductions and modifications.
  • Support machine setup and repairs as needed by providing engineering expertise.
  • Create, update, and deliver reports as required.
  • Collaborate with business partners to streamline processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or electrical design engineering.
  • Experience with Lean Production Principles to reduce time, increase productivity, and reduce waste.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer in a batch, medium to high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a team setting with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with machine integration, robotics, or vision system setup and controls.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in design, improvement, or maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and automation equipment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in understanding computer programming and control systems including software and hardware.
  • Expertise in CAD software and 3D modeling.
