About the position

Tesla's Industrial Engineering team is looking for a motivated and experienced Industrial Engineer to join the Service Distribution Group. This role focuses on optimizing warehousing operations and IT system development, addressing operational bottlenecks, and enhancing system capabilities. The ideal candidate will lead a team of onsite engineers and technicians, driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Fluent in Warehouse Management Systems and able to optimize material flows through configuration changes, labor & equipment models, and AutoCAD 2D.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams such as Warehouse Operations, IT Systems Developers, Inventory Control, Packaging Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain teams, and Material Planning to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage continuous improvement resources to influence and drive change through data, engineering, and automation efforts, improving performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
  • Design and optimize material flow conveyance routes and facility layouts by analyzing bottlenecks and buffer sizes using process modeling.
  • Manage issue resolution and develop corrective actions for process inefficiencies related to standard warehouse and kitting operations, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Develop and maintain material flow data/plans that include capacity and efficiency, applying concepts of PDCA, Continuous Improvement, and Lean methodologies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Supply Chain Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related experience in warehouse management, materials management/flow, production control, inventory control, material handling/conveyance, or project management in a warehousing environment.
  • Analytical capabilities including data analysis to optimize warehouse processes/operations and inventory levels.
  • Proficiency in creating and reading 2D layouts in AutoCAD.
  • Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand.
  • Problem-solving ability in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment.
