About the position

The Industrial Engineer in the TD Strategy team at Micron Technology plays a crucial role in shaping the TD Business Plan, particularly focusing on TD Wafer loading across the High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) Fab Network. This position is integral to managing and communicating development milestones within the Technode business process, ensuring overall business process oversight, including quality audit support. The successful candidate will engage in active stakeholder partnerships, conduct thorough data analysis, and demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills to drive improvements in production metrics and operational efficiency. Safety is a paramount concern in this role. The engineer will be required to complete all necessary safety training and adhere to Micron's safety policies. This includes following environmental procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, reporting safety-related issues promptly, and conducting audits to identify safety concerns. Effective communication and collaboration are essential components of this position. The engineer will partner with key stakeholders to develop applications aimed at continuously improving production metrics. This involves coordinating with Engineering, Operations, and Process Integration (PI) to deliver required data and analysis, as well as creating and delivering impactful presentations. The role requires the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to a diverse audience and establish trusting relationships across local and global partner groups. Project management and planning are also critical aspects of this role. The engineer will manage projects, develop timelines, and ensure successful implementation of projects into business processes. This includes planning capital timing for new product introductions and ramps, identifying project requirements, and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule. Technical and data analysis skills are vital for this position. The engineer will design and coordinate projects across various departments, solve complex problems, and develop innovative solutions. They will also be responsible for maintaining job-critical knowledge and skills, performing audits, and identifying scenario changes to guide strategic decision-making processes. The role demands a proactive approach to minimize capital expenditure while ensuring timely capital identification through scenario analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies.
  • Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Reports all safety-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (Emergency Response Team, Supervision, etc.).
  • Performs audits and submits good catches on safety issues.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop applications to continuously improve production metrics.
  • Coordinates scenarios, works with Engineering, Operations and PI to deliver required data and analysis.
  • Partners with TD, process engineering and change management to ensure these groups are linked into the plan and scenario timelines.
  • Creates and delivers effective presentations.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental meetings for simple to complex issues and projects.
  • Uses data visualization techniques to clearly communicate complex ideas and plans to stakeholders so data can translate into decisions.
  • Clearly articulates complex ideas and issues to a broad audience.
  • Establishes trusting relationships across local and global partner groups and drives improvement solutions that meet the needs of the customers.
  • Provides regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Manages projects and develops timelines and business processes to meet scenario requests plan activities.

  • Provides solutions that improve performance of our current factory key metrics.
  • Proposes and implements modeling concepts, methods, and tools.
  • Maintains required training as well as job critical knowledge and skills.
  • Performs audits, Fab capacity, Cycle Time (CT), and capital scenarios.
  • Identifies and highlights scenario changes and requirements to guide TD executives in the strategic decision-making process.
  • Drives opportunities to minimize capital expenditure for a given scenario, while identifying the timing of the required capital through scenario analysis.

Requirements

  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations Management (POM), equivalent degree, or relevant experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of Micron planning and reporting systems (PDM, LPI, TIQ, MES, Data Navigator, MiCAP, ECT, GeRM, SQL, SharePoint).
