About the position

Global Power Components is a privately held manufacturer specializing in UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Recently, the company has moved operations into a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility, which is expected to foster continued growth and innovation. As a recognized leader in the industry, Global Power Components is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join their expanding team. This role will involve hands-on support for day-to-day production issues as well as participation in mid and long-term continuous improvement (CI) projects related to the production of engineered to order (ETO) products. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating standard operating procedures (SOP) that capture current production processes while implementing safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements. Additionally, the role includes the development, auditing, and continuous improvement of department quality and production goals, serving as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators. Opportunities for fixture design, capital equipment assessment, project scoping, and team leadership will also be available.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on support of day-to-day production issues as well as mid & long-term continuous improvement (CI) team projects related to the production of engineered to order (ETO) products.
  • Creation of standard operating procedures (SOP) capturing current production processes while implementing safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements.
  • Development, auditing, and continuous improvement of department quality and production goals while serving as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators.
  • Opportunities for fixture design, capital equipment assessment, project scoping, team leadership, and more.

Requirements

  • Ability to become intimately familiar with manufacturing processes.
  • Desire to become a subject matter expert!
  • Interested in working primarily in a hands-on, fast-paced, production floor environment.
  • Able to work on multiple projects with changing priorities.
  • Work equally well alone or in a cross-functional team with other Engineers, Safety, Quality Control, Purchasing, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field of study.
