About the position

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our Manufacturing operations team in Phoenix. You will be a member of a cross-functional team supporting Gore Medical. The industrial engineer's responsibility will be to apply industrial engineering methods and best practices and contribute to Lean process improvements, work systems, data analysis, capacity analysis plans, and clean room layout design. The ideal candidate will recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships, possess strong attention to detail, and excellent documentation skills, and be able to work and support on-site work while having experience with manufacturing work systems. This position will be located at our facility in Phoenix, Arizona, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Apply industrial engineering fundamentals for process improvement and problem solving
  • Support capacity planning process by managing data collection, capacity modeling, and analyzing and prioritizing capacity improvements
  • Experience developing layout designs and manufacturing systems implementation projects
  • Drive quantitative decision making through use of data analytics and simulation modeling
  • Apply Lean principles to improve business processes
  • Experience applying software related to ERP, PLM, CAD, and project management tools
  • Experience with standard costing and creating systems to measure cycle times for standard cost models
  • Broad supply chain knowledge to identify and support key stakeholder engagement and prioritize improvement opportunities across production processes
  • Effectively communicate and influence individuals, teams, and across the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or major in related disciplines with transferable knowledge and experiences
  • Minimum 5 years relevant engineering or operations experience
  • Solid knowledge of industrial engineering ability to apply this knowledge to manufacturing
  • Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience facilitating line layout design in AutoCAD or other software
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects and effective team member
  • Demonstrated proactive ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion using project management tools
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 5%

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical device manufacturing industry or other regulated industry
  • Class II or Class III medical device manufacturing experience
  • Simulation modeling experience
