Join PC Indiana as an Industrial Engineer where you will implement a Lean Manufacturing concept/process on the existing production facility. You will also be an active member of the new product development (NPD) process, introducing new parts in due time. As part of the Engineer team, you will report to the Methods Engineer and work with operations and Engineering onsite in Michigan City, IN. Your role will focus on meeting our KPIs, analyzing workstations to eliminate work-related injuries, and supporting the implementation of 5S and PokaYoke solutions through electric/DC tools and operator guidance systems. You will provide SOPs for process standardization and training to new operators, identify automation projects to improve safety, quality, and delivery, and support in maintaining and improving the QMS and ISO 9001 certification. You will design flexible production setups and tools capable of assembling different products, reduce rework through active root cause analysis, and ensure equipment/tools maintenance to avoid line stoppage. Your responsibilities will also include designing a world-class line balancing system with the lowest throughput time using techniques like AVIX, and creating the most efficient and ergonomic stations that allow for different combinations according to volume seasonality. You will actively participate in project team meetings to ensure design for assembly for new products, prepare line setups for new products, perform PFMEA to optimize line performance, and define new working instructions for operators, including training. In addition, you will contribute to a Kaizen & Innovation Process by benchmarking competition and market technology trends to bring new ways of working that could increase quality and cost leadership. You will develop networking in the industry and with other PCs and divisions to establish the best supplier base using the best production processes. You will also lead the Kaizen Visual Board from operators to quickly introduce their ideas and create best practices by formalizing assembly knowledge. As part of the Master Plan project execution, you will ensure that the manufacturing process and facility are completely defined and suitable for the intended factory output plans, following the Vacuum Technique Production Systems roadmap. You will identify project opportunities through the application of your expertise and tools such as Value Stream mapping, Time Study, and Capacity Models, build a smart factory roadmap, and work with the team to accomplish targets. Additionally, you will lead factory digital projects such as MES implementation and IIoT/Machine Connectivity, as well as factory automation projects, and train related manufacturing systems such as MES, visual management tools, and digital SOPs. You will also be involved in the logistic setup and develop supply methods.
