About the position

The Industrial Engineer at Franklin Industries plays a crucial role in driving change and enhancing operational efficiency. This position is centered around the execution of strategic initiatives while leading cross-functional teams that encompass operating, technical, and maintenance aspects. The primary focus is to ensure that safety remains the top priority within the organization, adhering to all safety protocols diligently. The engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining continuous improvement methodologies, specifically the 2 Second Lean approach, alongside problem-solving techniques such as the KATA method and Root Cause Analysis. Additionally, maintaining ISO 9001:2015 departmental standards is a key responsibility, ensuring that the organization meets quality management system requirements. In this role, the Industrial Engineer will identify production delays and sources of waste, utilizing technology and engineering principles to refine systems. They will set criteria for quality and speed, consistently measuring manufacturing behaviors to evaluate their success. The engineer will also apply innovative systems to improve workflows, adjust production lines, and integrate new technologies to enhance the supply and production chain. Training staff on the proper incorporation of new technologies and methods into existing production standards is also a vital part of the job. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, reflecting the dynamic nature of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that safety is the number one priority for Franklin Industries by abiding by all safety protocols.
  • Establish and maintain continuous improvement practices using the 2 Second Lean methodology.
  • Implement problem-solving techniques such as KATA and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 departmental standards.
  • Identify delays in production and sources of waste, refining systems using technology and engineering principles.
  • Set criteria for quality and speed, measuring manufacturing behaviors and evaluating their success.
  • Apply innovative systems to improve company workflows.
  • Adjust production lines and integrate new technology to enhance the supply and production chain.
  • Train staff on the proper incorporation of new technology and methods into current production standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Process Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years' experience in the field preferred.
  • Ability to perform cost/benefit analysis and calculate ROI for projects.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Highly motivated and proactive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Well-organized and adept at multi-tasking.
  • Analytical with strong math skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Office and Excel.
