About the position

The Industrial Engineer position at The Raymond Corporation is a critical role within the corporate manufacturing ecosystem, focusing on process mastery, team empowerment, and strategic alignment to optimize operations. The role involves collaboration with the Strategic Manufacturing Engineering Manager to drive operational excellence and innovation, standardizing tools and processes across the Manufacturing Engineering department while ensuring effective resource allocation and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Standardize the Industrial Engineering tools, processes, and onboarding knowledge across the Manufacturing Engineering department.
  • Ensure the utilization of Industrial Engineering tools and principles across all the Manufacturing Engineering organization.
  • Design efficient layouts, defined workstations, and material flow paths in processes.
  • Outline production capacity and proper resource allocation.
  • Resolve bottlenecks and flow constraints within outlined processes.
  • Identify and install key manufacturing processes or enhancements to increase cost effectiveness.
  • Provide consultation, direction, and mentoring to less experienced manufacturing engineering staff or contractors.
  • Lead or participate in projects requiring cross-functional expertise.
  • Conduct complex studies of operations and recommend process enhancements.
  • Provide technical direction and expertise to project team members and management.
  • Implement improvements in corporate business processes and work instructions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process.
  • Understanding of New Product Introduction processes.
  • Working knowledge of database management tools and process management systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, and facilities.
  • Familiarity with CAD programs and simulation software.
  • Proficiency in project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and interface with all levels of the organization.
