About the position

As an Industrial Engineer at Safran Aerosystems Evacuation, you will play a crucial role in enhancing production processes and ensuring the quality of our aircraft evacuation systems. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with process and method improvements, providing mechanical and technical support to senior engineers, and applying mechanical engineering principles to support the research, design, evaluation, installation, and operation of safety slides and rafts for large aircraft. You will work closely with the manufacturing engineering team to develop labor standards, assist in facility and workstation layout, and contribute to the research and development of capital projects within the manufacturing department. In this position, you will also be involved in the preparation and maintenance of work instructions, product estimates for manufacturing operations, and engineering design duties. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics, as well as assisting drafters in developing the structural design of new products using CAD tools. You will troubleshoot production issues, assist in the implementation of new products from engineering to production, and conduct tests to analyze the feasibility and performance of designs. Your role will require collaboration with senior engineers to assess new designs and processing methods, ensuring that all tooling, instructions, and processes are developed to successfully build the product. Additionally, you will participate in testing various design models and contribute to the resolution of system malfunctions, providing technical reports on failure analysis as needed. This position reports directly to the Director of Industrialization and offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process and method improvements through common methods such as tooling, instructions, and equipment.
  • Provide mechanical and technical support to senior engineers when troubleshooting problems affecting production and quality.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to assist senior engineers with research, design, evaluation, installation, and operation of safety slides and rafts for large aircraft.
  • Assist with product implementation and maintenance of labor standards.
  • Support the manufacturing engineering supervisor with the development of labor standards for existing products on new bill of material requests.
  • Assist with facility and workstation layout.
  • Contribute to the research and development of capital projects in the manufacturing department.
  • Prepare and maintain work instructions as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of product estimates for manufacturing operations, including estimates of special tools, fixtures, and equipment needed for new product manufacture.
  • Assist with engineering design duties under the supervision of senior engineers, including reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Troubleshoot problems affecting the production area and assist in the process of corrective action.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team on research and development of new equipment and processes to aid the manufacturing process.
  • Assist in production implementation tests of new products from engineering to production, ensuring successful development of tooling, instructions, and processes.
  • Participate in testing various design models for alternate designs and processing methods to assist senior engineers with feasibility assessments.
  • Research the resolution of system malfunctions and provide technical reports on failure analysis as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Foreign Equivalent required.
  • No prior work experience required, but a first experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
