About the position

The Plant Manufacturing-Industrial Engineer is responsible for cost estimating, design for manufacturability, process control, process improvements, and tool design for the multi-plant manufacturing campus. The role involves participating in design reviews to establish standard and custom product designs that optimize manufacturability, reviewing and approving Engineering layouts and drawings for optimum manufacturability, cost, tooling, make/buy decision, and product structure. The engineer will develop and communicate a 'manufacturing plan' for new designs or processes to production departments, generate new or revised process specifications to support manufacturing, and identify, design, and procure required tooling and fixtures, including the control of tooling expenditures within established limits. Additionally, the engineer will support production operations during the manufacturing process through technical guidance and resolution of any problems or errors, develop facility layouts and process flow charts that reflect current operations and processes, and analyze work samples to create routings for labor utilization standards. The role also includes evaluating methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste, initiating and participating in strategic programs for cycle time, quality, and cost improvement, providing maintenance engineering for machine tools and process facilities, and assisting various departments with evaluations and decisions related to capacity, vendors, and quality issues. Occasional overnight and international travel will be required.
