About the position

The Plant Industrial Engineer at Triumph Group will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of aerospace products by diagnosing electrical control issues, creating economical repair solutions, and collaborating with various teams to enhance productivity and quality. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles and the ability to implement continuous improvement strategies within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical controls issues for a variety of equipment throughout the facility.
  • Create economical solutions for repairing electronic controls.
  • Assist maintenance employees with mechanical and electrical repairs as necessary.
  • Recommend cost reduction solutions to support overall business performance.
  • Work closely with High Performance Leaders, Team Leaders, Engineers, Quality Engineers, Operators, and Machinists to meet customer expectations.
  • Improve productivity performance by reducing waste and enhancing equipment maintenance processes.
  • Enhance quality performance by identifying and eliminating variations in equipment and processes.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions to meet quality requirements.
  • Review and understand plantwide engineering drawings for potential growth and power requirements.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal customers and keep them informed of projects and solutions.
  • Develop MER and CER proposals for production and site improvements.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction teams for facility upgrades.
  • Recommend site-wide facility improvements for Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Provide technical support for safety and ergonomics issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities with direct labor employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in an Industrial Engineering position within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience leading and participating in complex technical improvements.
  • 5+ years of experience with facility troubleshooting challenges and proactive solutions for building improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization while remaining customer-oriented.
  • Understanding and use of continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Aerospace Industry Experience preferred.
