About the position

The Corporate Industrial Engineer at Fechheimer Brothers will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing processes within the organization. This position is based at the Nationwide Plant in Hodgenville, Kentucky, and involves a blend of office work and hands-on engagement on the sewing floor. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in apparel manufacturing to monitor production levels, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements that lead to increased operator output and reduced work-in-progress (WIP) levels. The role requires a proactive approach to conducting research and integrating the latest apparel manufacturing technologies into production lines, ultimately aiming to reduce costs while improving product quality. As a key member of the engineering team, the Corporate Industrial Engineer will be responsible for extracting and analyzing data from the production control program, ensuring that accurate reports are generated and shared with plant management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. This position also involves conducting time studies to establish manufacturing production rates and acting as a safety champion by adhering to OSHA guidelines and regulations. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with various teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

  • Monitor production levels of each operation and implement process changes to increase operator efficiencies.
  • Monitor daily production and identify areas creating bottlenecks, developing solutions to these problems.
  • Extract data from the production control program to share with plant management on a daily basis.
  • Perform data entry and maintain the production control system for accurate reporting on production.
  • Conduct time studies and set manufacturing production rates.
  • Act as a safety champion for the location, following OSHA guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in apparel manufacturing (minimum 2 years).
  • 5 years of experience in apparel manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Experience with TSS (Toyota Sewing System) for modular manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with piece rate production programs and OSHA regulations.
