About the position

The Industrial Engineer will play a crucial role in creating, developing, and implementing efficient manufacturing systems aimed at reducing costs while maintaining high operational standards. This position is essential for ensuring that the manufacturing processes are optimized for both productivity and safety. The Industrial Engineer will collaborate closely with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and improve building ergonomics for new product lines. This involves not only the design of work areas but also the redesign and enhancement of existing layouts to minimize awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations. In addition to layout design, the Industrial Engineer will be responsible for staying updated on best practices in manufacturing methods, as well as trends and developments in technology and equipment. This knowledge will be applied to maintain the organization's competitive edge in the market. The role also includes identifying and assessing various problems and deviations from established manufacturing standards and best practices, researching potential solutions, and recommending actionable changes. The Industrial Engineer will develop and maintain management information, planning, and control systems to ensure that production processes are efficient and cost-effective. Implementing methods and modifications to reduce production costs will be a key responsibility, along with performing other duties as assigned by management. This position may also involve assisting with the supervision of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure that operational goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.
• Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts to reduce or eliminate awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, trends, and developments in technology and equipment.
• Identifies and assesses problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.
• Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.
• Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required.
• At least one year of engineering experience required or new grad with an Industrial Degree and internship experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
