To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Industrial Engineer located in Coopersville, MI. Reporting to the Business Excellence Manager, the Industrial Engineer is responsible for increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently. A typical day for the Industrial Engineer includes providing process time estimation to the quote team, simulating process, materials, and manufacturing workflow, and giving input to process engineers using tools such as REFA, MOST, and WITNESS. During New Product Introduction (NPI), the engineer coordinates process planning and setup with respect to takt, cycle time, and direct labor requirements. They review results during prototyping and trial runs, providing feedback to the NPI and sales teams. The role also involves analyzing work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment, recommending methods for improving worker efficiency, and reducing waste of materials and utilities. Additionally, the Industrial Engineer confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations, develops management systems for cost analysis and financial planning, and designs production planning and control systems to ensure product quality. The engineer leads and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve performance in constrained areas like LEAN, Automation, and/or Six Sigma projects.
