About the position

Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer to be located in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing manufacturing and industrial processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This includes a variety of tasks such as process designing, troubleshooting, process optimization, process analysis, process documentation, quality control, project management, process automation, and quality assurance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the organization. As an Industrial Engineer, your primary focus will be on developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. You will support the building of project controls capabilities, which includes creating cost and schedule baselines, tracking, forecasting, and change management tools. Additionally, you will perform process capability studies, conduct statistical analysis, and engage in data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets. Your responsibilities will also include conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing using lean tools, working closely with division OPEX resources to drive continuous improvement (CI) programs, and utilizing EBS resources such as ProLaunch, OpA, and BPI. You will design and plan equipment layouts that maximize production velocity and material flow, implement process monitoring to facilitate a digital factory, and troubleshoot problems associated with manufacturing processes. Furthermore, you will work with division leadership, functional leaders, and site managers to align project management resources and initiatives with key business objectives, driving unified plans that support operations and division business, financial, and employee engagement objectives. Lastly, you will facilitate a culture where best practices are shared across operations and the business, identifying opportunities for synergy and integration between businesses while benchmarking industry and local best practices to set stretch performance targets.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing and industrial processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of process design and implementation experience.
  • Minimum one (1) experience in manufacturing.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in facility management and consolidation.
  • PMP certification.
  • 5 years project management experience in construction and/or power distribution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and equally well within all levels of an organization.
