About the position

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support Burlington's Distribution Center organization through a variety of established reports and projects focused on enhancing productivity, increasing distribution capacity, reducing expense, maximizing throughput, and ensuring workplace safety through data reporting and analysis. As a Distribution Operations Engineer, you will assist in monitoring and tracking changes to operations, work measurement, methods, materials usage, and training with the goal of improving processes and productivity. This will directly impact throughput and increase cost savings across the distribution center. In this role, you will manage and publish operational key metric reporting and summarize opportunities for improvement. You will assist in the rollout of new concepts aimed at improving the flow and setup in the distribution centers. Additionally, you will follow current forecast and analysis reporting to aid in determining staffing levels necessary to meet budget and productivity goals. Performing cost justification analysis for project requests will also be part of your responsibilities. You will work effectively with both internal and external resources to ensure collaborative partnerships that meet business requirements, and assist in training operational partners as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of Distribution Center Operations as well as basic data analytics skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks at once, recognizing interdependencies & prioritizing appropriately
  • Effective ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information and data, and utilize that information to form recommendations
  • Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving skills as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with business leaders
  • Technical skills including Excel, WMS, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
