This is an excellent opportunity for an Industrial Engineer to join our metal stamping and welding manufacturing plant in Holland, MI. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with operations, engineering, management team, and plant manager. The role involves establishing work standards through accepted time and motion techniques and maintaining the work measurement system. The engineer will estimate standards and prepare cost estimates on new products or engineering changes as assigned by the Engineering Manager, justifying the value of product cost to customers. The position requires constant analysis of methods and manufacturing processes for improvement, simplification, revision, cost reduction, and utilizing Kaizen. The Industrial Engineer will initiate new and revise existing plant layouts, audit current standards for changes and improvements in manufacturing processes, and ensure a fair and equitable work measurement program. Additionally, the engineer will instruct manufacturing management and hourly employees in the application of industrial engineering programs, investigate methods change, layout revision, and cost reduction recommendations, and develop means of measuring indirect labor and other non-repetitive work. The role also involves gathering, compiling, and analyzing data on manufacturing operations, conducting special studies and projects as directed by the Engineering Manager, and participating in safety involvement teams to maintain an accident-free, high-efficiency plant operation. The Industrial Engineer performs other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager, ensuring efficient and safe work practices, procedures, and facilities by coordinating with the Human Relations Department and Manufacturing Engineering Department.
