About the position

As an Industrial Engineer at General Motors, you will lead efforts to optimize work processes for efficiency and quality. This role involves analyzing various aspects of production, such as job instructions, line balance, and ergonomics, to identify and eliminate waste while driving a culture of continuous improvement. You will collaborate with team members to develop strategies that align with productivity targets and support a safe and effective work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide standard time data for writing Standardized Work
• Analyze jobs for safety, quality, and efficiency, recommending changes and improvements
• Maintain current standardized work documentation
• Support a standard process for managing changes to standardized work across all shifts
• Complete regular validations of manual and automatic cycles
• Provide throughput analysis reports and analyze proposals to remove bottlenecks
• Conduct ergonomic assessments of work with UAW joint partner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of industrial engineering experience
• Proficiency in designing work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements
• Knowledge and ability to coach and implement lean manufacturing principles
• Familiarity with ergonomic principles and risk factors
• Strong analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with autonomy

• Knowledge/experience with APS Ergonomic Assessment Tool
