About the position

The Industrial Engineer position at Volt involves optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring efficient service delivery through the application of engineering principles and Six Sigma methodologies. The role includes developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), training staff, analyzing production data, and collaborating with various departments to enhance production quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows to understand manufacturing and service requirements.
  • Determine how to deliver services with maximum efficiency using Six Sigma methods.
  • Assist management in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the manufacturing line process.
  • Train all manufacturing technicians and operators on SOP.
  • Analyze and conduct time studies to increase production line efficiency with quality output.
  • Design training matrixes for production line technicians and operators and routinely train and test them to ensure their skill set qualifications are up to date.
  • Compile and analyze Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing performance data to revise SOP to meet production performance objectives.
  • Analyze and evaluate process change requests from other departments before releasing them to production lines.
  • Support Production Department (PD) and Quality Assurance (QA) in identifying causes of poor quality and assist in developing solutions to reduce failures in the production process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing, or a similar engineering discipline is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft applications is highly preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to concentrate on assigned work.
  • Ability to use computer peripherals required for testing operations.
  • Excellent listening and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and support other departments.
  • Sufficient knowledge of the processes on the production lines.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
