About the position

The Industrial Engineer position is focused on managing and optimizing warehousing operations within a manufacturing facility located in Lincoln, NE. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of flow architecture, Lean methodologies, and warehouse design principles. The selected candidate will be responsible for defining internal flow architecture, designing local warehouses to meet global standards, and ensuring that all operations comply with safety and ergonomics conditions. The position demands a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, particularly in the digital transformation of Material Providing and Handling (MPH) and warehouse operations. The engineer will also be involved in route planning for the evacuation of finished goods and waste, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective. The role requires collaboration within a dynamic, multicultural team environment, and the ability to work safely around chemicals and hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, with at least two years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Experience with SAP and Lean methodologies is preferred, as well as a solid understanding of warehouse design sizing and flow architecture. The position is strictly onsite, requiring 100% presence in the Lincoln area, and is not open to remote work or candidates outside this location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects to design and optimize warehousing operations
  • Define the internal flow architecture based on the principles
  • Design local warehouse to Global architecture standards, including standardized work instructions, floor layouts, and material storage configurations
  • Use knowledge of Lean principles to reduce waste
  • Warehouse design sizing to meet safety, capacity, quality, and efficiency targets
  • Ensure safety and ergonomics conditions in warehouse and material handling activities
  • Define and involve SAP system with warehouse management configuration
  • Champion the continuous improvement of the digital transformation of MPH (Material Providing and Handing) and Warehouse implementing new automation and technology to optimize safety, quality, time, and cost
  • Route planning for the evacuation of finished products and waste
  • Audit established processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standards
  • Develop and prepare relevant reports of findings including recommendations for improvement actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering or related field is required, will consider experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years' experience working in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience with flow architecture for warehouse layout
  • Experience with Lean methodologies in a warehouse environment, including digital transformation of MPH (Material Providing & Handling) and Warehouse
  • Experience with warehouse design sizing
  • Experience with route planning for the evacuation of finished goods and waste
  • Ability to collaborate in a dynamic, multicultural team environment
  • Must be able to work around chemicals, hazardous waste, and all types of equipment safely

Nice-to-haves

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Material Handler experience will not work for this position
