To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Industrial Engineer located in Coopersville, MI. Reporting to the Business Excellence Manager, the Industrial Engineer is responsible for increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently. A typical day for the Industrial Engineer includes providing process time estimation to the quote team, simulating process, materials, and manufacturing workflow, and giving input to process engineers using tools such as REFA, MOST, and WITNESS. During New Product Introduction (NPI), the engineer coordinates process planning and setup with respect to takt, cycle time, and direct labor requirements. They also review results during prototyping and trial runs, providing feedback to the NPI and sales teams. The role involves work measurement programs, analyzing work samples to develop standards for labor utilization, and recommending methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities. Additionally, the engineer confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations, develops management systems for cost analysis, and designs production planning and control systems to ensure product quality. The engineer leads and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve performance in constrained areas like LEAN, Automation, and/or Six Sigma projects.
