About the position

HTI is seeking a technical hands-on Industrial Engineer focused on material flow with a well-known automotive manufacturer specializing in Metris and Sprinter vans. This position will be focused on creating the most efficient way to get what is needed from the warehouse to the production line. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for managing concepts that allow for appropriate levels of materials and stock supplies to be kept. This role supports Material Handling on the shop floor and aims to reduce processing time and manpower requirements by stabilizing and optimizing the process of receiving goods, storing, and delivering. The Industrial Engineer will monitor the flow of materials and products from suppliers throughout the organization, analyzing impacts to changes in market packaging or logistics processes and assessing their viability. The role also involves planning for future products down the line and implementing new initiatives. The engineer will analyze and develop logistics plans that affect production, warehousing, and inventory, while implementing Lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency. Additionally, the engineer will review procedures for material handling and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize costs. Preparing presentations for management to explain complex problems and the timing associated with each topic is also a key responsibility. The engineer will propose and implement logistics standards, methods, and processes, and develop and implement processes to deliver products in more efficient ways. The role may involve providing guidance to less experienced specialists and participating in regularly scheduled team meetings.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, logistics, or other related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (warehouse logistics in a manufacturing environment).
  • ISO/IATF certified environment experience.
  • Lean principles knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills & MRP system experience.
