About the position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects. The work model for the role is onsite, which means you will be working directly at the facility, collaborating with your team and other departments to ensure project success. You will be mainly accountable for supporting production startup and ramp plans through project management by providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities. This includes assisting in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-documented and communicated. You will utilize checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary requirements. Additionally, you will create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation, which includes facility layout, process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, takt time assessments, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing. This documentation is crucial for maintaining efficiency and effectiveness in the manufacturing process, and your attention to detail will be key in this aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Support production startup and ramp plans through project management by providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Preferred experience includes Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Project Management, SAP, Manufacturing, ProPlanner, FlexSim, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Value Stream Mapping, and Labor Routings.
  • Position requires occasional 2nd shift availability.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
