About the position

American Battery Solutions is seeking a dedicated Industrial Engineer to join our team in Springboro, Ohio. This full-time position is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives across our Materials and Logistics operations. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing strategies that optimize cost structures, enhance productivity, and improve product throughput. This role will also focus on streamlining processes and enhancing service and performance metrics throughout the organization. In this role, the Industrial Engineer will leverage their expertise in industrial engineering techniques to analyze warehouse processes, identify key improvement projects, and optimize labor, space, accuracy, and safety. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, utilizing statistical analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other analytical tools to support recommendations. The successful candidate will develop and monitor process metrics to ensure continuous improvement. The Industrial Engineer will evaluate existing warehouse processes, identify waste, and recommend changes to enhance efficiency. This includes reviewing best practices from other warehouses and tracking project efficiency. Additionally, the role involves managing major projects related to capital investments, including ROI evaluations, equipment specifications, process updates, and training associates to ensure seamless transitions that meet customer expectations. Collaboration with the Logistics team is essential to identify annual cost savings opportunities through continuous improvement initiatives, ultimately leading to optimal operational and financial logistics performance. The Industrial Engineer will also design and implement methods that enhance operational flexibility and lean production systems, modify existing logistics systems, and support the development of material ordering and distribution methods throughout the supply chain. The position requires a commitment to adhering to company policies and federal regulations, as well as a focus on predictable and reliable attendance. The Industrial Engineer will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze warehouse processes using industrial engineering techniques to identify improvement projects.
  • Provide data analysis and root cause identification to prioritize key logistics projects.
  • Use statistical analysis, FMEA, and other analytical tools to support recommendations.
  • Develop and monitor process metrics to track efficiency on projects.
  • Evaluate warehouse processes, identify waste, and recommend changes to improve efficiency.
  • Manage major projects within the warehouse for capital investments, including ROI evaluation and equipment specification.
  • Oversee analysis and improvements to manufacturing and warehouse layouts to optimize material flow.
  • Identify annual cost savings opportunities through continuous improvement initiatives with the Logistics team.
  • Design, develop, validate, and implement methods that improve operational flexibility and lean production systems.
  • Modify and improve existing logistics systems such as material flow and information flow.
  • Support Logistics teams in developing methods for material ordering, communication, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement solutions to reduce lead time throughout the value stream.
  • Teach and drive the utilization of lean logistics tools such as Kanban and Milk runs.
  • Collaborate with other Logistics teams to optimize shipping, receiving, and warehousing processes.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Business, or related fields.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in process engineering, industrial engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience with MRP and ERP systems; previous PLEX ERP system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong technical, communication, customer service, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems.
