We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our team in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. This position is essential for establishing the physical layout of machinery and optimizing the sequence of operations and workflow to enhance productivity and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning operations, documenting manufacturing standards, and conducting studies related to cost control and productivity improvement. This role requires a deep understanding of production processes, material flow design, and capacity planning, preferably using SAP. As an Industrial Engineer, you will lead and execute complex projects that align with our operational goals. You will perform cycle time and takt time analysis, conduct motion and time studies, and ensure line balancing to optimize manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will develop and enhance work instructions to implement best practices and ensure the repeatability of tasks. Compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements is also a critical aspect of this role. Responsibilities

  • Establish the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.
  • Plan the sequence of operations and procedures and document manufacturing standard work and routings.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, and inventory control.
  • Lead and execute complex projects to support operational goals.
  • Perform cycle time and takt time analysis.
  • Conduct motion and time studies and line balancing.
  • Develop and enhance work instructions to implement best practices and ensure repeatability of tasks.
  • Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (electronics, mechatronics, or mechanical).
  • 1-3 years of prior relevant experience in industrial engineering.
  • Experience using continuous improvement tools including LEAN and Six Sigma.
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Drawings, BOMs, Routings, Manufacturing Procedures, and product specifications.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritize workload, and collaborate effectively with teams.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
