About the position

As a Senior Industrial Engineer at Lockheed Martin, you will be instrumental in optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. This role involves analyzing workflows, optimizing equipment layouts, and implementing innovative solutions to improve production operations. You will leverage advanced technologies and methodologies to contribute to the factory of the future, ensuring that Lockheed Martin maintains its leadership in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and designing sequences of operations and workflows to improve efficiency in plant and production facilities.
  • Optimizing equipment layouts and establishing methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • Conducting studies related to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Developing and implementing plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Utilizing simulation software and data analysis tools to identify opportunities and measure the impact of suggested changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant Industrial Engineering experience supporting a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience using data analytics tools, with a strong preference for Tableau and Alteryx.
  • Previous experience leading SIA activities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • First-hand experience applying and implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system.
  • Familiarity with capacity analysis of manufacturing areas.
  • Exposure to manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Manufacturing simulation experience (FlexSim).
