About the position

Leidos Dynetics is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support diverse manufacturing solutions for Defense Department customers. The role involves developing, documenting, and executing manufacturing processes and systems across various locations, with a focus on optimizing production workflows and driving engineering standards. The Industrial Engineer will collaborate with multiple teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and contribute to strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify value-added and non-value-added activities.
  • Support the development and management of technical capabilities and manufacturing strategies to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist site manufacturing teams with long-range planning, including production launch activities and plant layouts.
  • Evaluate capacity planning for various manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Identify and implement solutions for process improvement using lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices across manufacturing sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical discipline with at least 8 years of experience, OR a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering support for Defense, Aerospace, Space, or Commercial projects.
  • Technical experience in creating manufacturing strategies, including make/buy decisions and capacity planning.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams to drive manufacturing excellence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software and AutoCAD.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess or be eligible for a Final Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in facility planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software.
  • Familiarity with Solumina MES software.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Windchill PLM software.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
