About the position

As an Industrial Engineer at Burlington, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and tracking changes to operations, work measurement, methods, materials usage, and training with the goal of improving processes and productivity. Your primary focus will be on supporting the distribution organization through a variety of established reports and projects aimed at enhancing productivity, increasing distribution capacity, reducing expenses, maximizing throughput, and ensuring workplace safety through data reporting and analysis. The primary customers for your work will be the distribution center leadership team, and you will be expected to manage and publish operational key metric reporting while summarizing opportunities for improvement. In this role, you will assist in the rollout of new concepts designed to improve the flow and setup within the distribution centers. You will also follow current forecast and analysis reporting to aid in determining staffing levels necessary to meet budget and productivity goals. Performing cost justification analysis for project requests will be a key responsibility, as will working effectively with both internal and external resources to ensure collaborative partnerships that meet business requirements. Additionally, you will assist in training operational partners as needed, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their roles.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in industrial engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent experience in Distribution Center Operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, recognizing interdependencies and prioritizing appropriately.
  • Effective use of information and data to recommend solutions to budget issues.
  • Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, WMS, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Six Sigma experience is a plus.
