About the position

The Industrial Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the Propulsion Systems Division, focusing on improving business performance through lean processes and operational efficiency. The role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving, with a significant emphasis on continuous improvement and waste elimination in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Observe, understand and model the Least Waste Way
• Positively impact the business by working with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines to eliminate waste and improve processes
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Work collaboratively across disciplines to develop solutions with an emphasis on timeliness and execution
• Design and implement processes to improve efficiency and flow throughout the factory and back office
• Facilitate continuous improvement events to develop, define and improve processes in PS' Nozzle Value Stream
• Create, publish and analyze production performance metrics
• Conduct special studies and projects
• Create staffing models based on work content
• Design facilities and workplace layout

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university (Level 01)
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university with 2-5 years of industrial engineering experience (Level 02)
• Strong preference for Industrial Engineering degree
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to convey complex information in simplified terms

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the Toyota Production System
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
