About the position

CooperVision, a division of CooperCompanies, is seeking a dedicated engineer to lead and assist with various engineering projects aimed at enhancing both new and existing equipment and processes. The primary focus of this role is to implement strategies that will reduce costs, improve quality, increase production capacity, and ultimately enhance customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will leverage lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify process improvement opportunities, establish relevant metrics, and formulate actionable improvement plans. In this position, you will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the collection and analysis of critical data that informs decision-making and process enhancements. You will also lead and participate in process and product validations, ensuring that all operations adhere to company specifications, as well as comply with internal quality systems and external regulations, including FDA and ISO standards. Your insights and recommendations will be vital in supporting management in the development and application of both current and new business processes, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with engineering projects focused on improving equipment and processes.
  • Apply lean and Six Sigma methods to evaluate process improvement opportunities.
  • Define metrics and develop improvement plans based on data analysis.
  • Organize and oversee the collection and analysis of pertinent data.
  • Lead and participate in process and product validations to ensure compliance with company specifications and regulations.
  • Provide input to management for the development and application of business processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in engineering, particularly in process improvement and equipment optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Experience with process and product validation in a regulated environment (FDA/ISO).
  • Excellent communication skills to provide input and support to management.
