About the position

The Industrial Engineering Process Improvement Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific will engage in significant projects that contribute to the company's operational excellence. This internship focuses on applying Lean Manufacturing methodologies and Continuous Improvement practices to enhance business processes. Interns will gain hands-on experience in various improvement initiatives while supporting the internal PPI site with content creation and project showcases.

Responsibilities

• Work on Visual Management and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Learn and apply continuous improvement methodologies and PPI Business System topics.
• Create content for social media to support the internal PPI site.
• Benchmark against industry standard processes and propose innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with other functions to implement solutions and train associates in PPI tools.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student pursuing a Supply Chain or Engineering-related degree, graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
• 0 years of work experience required; previous related internships preferred.
• Strong track record demonstrating integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Lean leadership and 5S methodologies.
• Familiarity with Continuous Improvement projects.
