About the position

The Industrial Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Value Stream Manager and Industrial Engineering Manager to develop and implement strategies aimed at eliminating losses within the value stream. This position focuses on optimizing processes to enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. The technician is responsible for establishing a clear roadmap for success, challenging existing standards, and supporting cost-saving initiatives aligned with the Mars Wrigley supply strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), perform trend analysis, and communicate performance against targets
  • Support Activity Management (Project Management) process and act as 'voice of site' for new activities
  • Conduct capability and capacity analysis for production lines and lead bottleneck analysis
  • Optimize labor efficiency/staffing standards
  • Leverage regional and global benchmarking to identify areas for improvement
  • Lead/participate in/coach loss analysis and Continuous Improvement activities in journey to zero loss (FI Pillar of TPM)
  • Perform regular rate reviews of product lines and own rate strategy

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Math (Statistics), Finance, Supply, Business Management or a related technical field
  • OR 2-year technical degree AND 2 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power BI
  • User of Microsoft software including: Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Tableau or similar modeling and database skills
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact and influence all organizational levels; open to change and input from diverse workforce
  • Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing / TPM environment
  • Good working knowledge of cost-vs.-benefit analysis (e.g. IRR, payback period)
  • Experience with Lean tools such as 5S, SMED, Standard Work
  • Knowledgeable with Root Cause Analysis tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis
