About the position

The Industrial Machinery Maintenance Mechanic at TRDI is responsible for supporting the production operations machinery within the Facilities Maintenance Department. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on highly automated equipment to maintain equipment performance and achieve production line targets.
  • Repair and maintain primary and secondary production machining processes and general maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and test CNC machines to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment in a fast-paced automated manufacturing environment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and machine components.
  • Move existing equipment and install new machinery as needed.
  • Clean, repair, and install equipment and parts as necessary.
  • Run diagnostic tests on CNC machinery to ensure system functionality.
  • Perform emergency repairs, align, and calibrate machinery and parts.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information trends.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Ensure safety considerations are prioritized while planning and performing duties.
  • Recognize and adhere to best practices for safety, including lockout/tag out and confined space entry procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
  • Follow and support all policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of TRDI, Lockheed Martin, and PEO SOFSA.
  • Respond to off-hour calls and emergencies as needed.
  • Train and develop an Industrial Maintenance Apprentice.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of 3 axis and 5 axis CNC Lathe, CNC Water Jets, and CNC Lasers.
  • Graduation from a 2-year vocational training program in industrial maintenance or formal apprenticeship training, or 3-5 years of experience in industrial/commercial maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Practical mind with mechanical and electrical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis.
