About the position
The Industrial Maintenance Electrical Technician at McWane Ductile is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and components in a manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems that support the production of ductile iron pipes. The technician will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards while working collaboratively with other personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and correct problems.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Complete all required Environmental training specific to the job.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2+ years of previous industrial electrical experience working in a manufacturing/warehouse, military, or related environment.
- Ability to interact with all personnel levels and follow work directives and safety procedures.
- Ability to read policies and procedures, most of which are in English.
- Moderate English communication skills.
