Giesecke+Devrient is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team on 1st shift in Bolingbrook, IL. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our production equipment. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment using technical blueprints and schematics. This position requires conducting preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability. You will collaborate with production supervisors to ensure machines are set up according to daily schedules and investigate equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence. Adhering to ISO standards and ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations is crucial. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, promoting continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department, and communicating unresolved issues to management promptly are key responsibilities. You will also manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability for critical repairs, as well as train colleagues on equipment maintenance and operational procedures. Following and participating in plant safety and housekeeping guidelines is expected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in repairing complex electrical machinery.
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with PLC, AC/DC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Exacting standards of personal integrity with the ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, and stackers.
  • Competence in handling potentially hazardous materials safely.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent eyesight (correctable to 20/20) and normal color perception.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check prior to employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • 2-4 years of vocational and/or maintenance technician experience.
  • Technical degree from an accredited institution.
  • PLC experience.
