About the position

The position involves representing the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics". The role actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values". The apprentice will learn to assemble and disassemble refinery equipment, perform duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control), and gain knowledge to work from drawings and blueprints. The apprentice will also learn to operate various types of equipment such as forklifts and manlifts, perform Turnaround duties when required, and complete work assignments under the close supervision of a journeyperson or foreman. Additionally, the apprentice must learn to select the proper tools and equipment to complete a job, work well with supervision, and attend apprenticeship classes for the duration of the apprenticeship.

  • Learn to assemble and disassemble refinery equipment.
  • Perform duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control).
  • Work from drawings and blueprints.
  • Learn to operate various types of equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.).
  • Perform Turnaround duties when required.
  • Complete work assignments under the close supervision of a journeyperson or foreman.
  • Learn to select the proper tools and equipment to complete a job.
  • Work well with supervision.
  • Attend apprenticeship classes for the duration of the apprenticeship.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Zero (0) to four (4) years in refinery maintenance experience.
  • Participation in the apprenticeship program for up to four (4) years.
  • Understanding of refinery maintenance type work and knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Ability to pass the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice Program proficiency tests at or above 70%.
  • Completion of Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and Client/Site specific training.
  • Pass background check.
  • Obtain and maintain an active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
  • Possess a TWIC card.
  • Have a 20-hour high hazard facility training card.
  • Produce a High School diploma or GED and have a valid driver's license.
