About the position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and services within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on ensuring production efficiency and safety through effective maintenance practices, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The technician will work primarily on the 3rd shift, addressing complex projects and providing mentorship to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, improve and repair equipment, plant services, and building installations to ensure production efficiency.
  • Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PM).
  • Manage multiple complex projects requiring innovative solutions to ensure successful completion.
  • Diagnose faults and perform maintenance and repairs on all types of plant and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Estimate time required for jobs and communicate potential consequences of delays.
  • Report breakdown root causes and equipment faults to management.
  • Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and adheres to regulations.
  • Identify spare parts requirements and log usage accurately.
  • Assist in developing and executing planned preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems effectively to track work and manage tasks.
  • Operate lifting equipment and maintain a clean and organized workplace following 5S methodology.
  • Promote safety and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Stay updated on manufacturing and engineering trends related to maintenance.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CNC maintenance and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Servo Drive systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to stand or walk on concrete for up to 12 hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
